I share my journey of Rap music and how I connect with rap through the decades.
Hip hop and R and B seem to not really include rap music, the genre seem to stand out on its own.
Rap portrayed in the mainstream media has had a bad rap with its affiliations with gangs and violence, this could be a reason it has remained underground for so long and like many other forms of music and dance it does (ironically) gain popularity.
Rap is now truly a valued genre and the creative aspects are recognised around the world as an authentic way of expressing the zeitgeist mood of a generation.
